Till July 2014, spent close to 5 years at Hexaware Technologies as Executive Vice President, responsible for the QATS (Quality Assurance and Testing Services) global business unit. The initial focus was on integrating the acquired test consulting company, FocusFrame into Hexaware. The integration involved harmonizing processes, talent, organization and workforce rationalization. Strategized, planned and created a successful operating model for the business unit to achieve organizational targets. Developed sales and go-to market plans and built a consultative global practice and pre-sales teams. Incubated CoEs and nurtured new IPs and solutions within the business unit. Focused and nurtured growth in a new market like LATAM, specifically Mexico and Brazil. Grew the business from $35 mil to $85 million within 4 years. Was a member of the management council at Hexaware.
While at Wipro in India for 5 years, was responsible for starting the testing practice for the BFSI vertical and later expanding into the Enterprise verticals. Managed a team of around 1200 FTEs across delivery, pre-sales and CoEs. Developed and supported verticals to create testing opportunities with effective account mining and new sales.
Spent close to a decade across industries like financial services KPO, Manufacturing and Process Engineering in QA, operations and general management. As an entrepreneur, set up a high tech precision casting foundry (Goa Invescast Limited) in Goa, in technical collaboration with Flowserve Inc. (formerly Duriron Inc, USA). Managed the company for 5 years from inception to steady state.
Dr. Shilpi is an accomplished faculty and trainer in Human Resource Management and design and delivery of behavioural Training interventions. She has an MBA ad PHD and is certified counsellor for Tata Institute of Social Science and was the former head Learning & Developement of CGPL & subsidiary of Tata Power Ltd.
